Its been awhile…

Since my last post it has

- snowed in Wellington, yes Wellington.

- we won the Rugby World Cup!

- I have finished University forever (fingers crossed)

- I have accepted a new job! 

I am definitely going to miss walking the corridors here at Parliament, full of history, power and character. But new opportunities await and im super excited / shaking in my boots… to be moving onto better and brighter things!

O and I cant forget - I am getting a nice wee redundancy payout of 4 months pay (my current role is event based) that I am ecstatic about - feels as if I have won the lotto.. so so sweet!

- summer is almost here and its nearly Christmas! can’t get much better than this :)

Exposed brick is amazing. I love how it looks so worn, well-lived and loaded with history.

Some people dream of success, others make it happen. Of course, you can dream as much as you like but waiting for things to happen gets you nowhere. Get active and start making things happen.

Whatever journey your path takes you on, the most important thing is to have passion in what you do.

How many of you went to college, got your degree, and ended up doing something totally unrelated to your major? Studying it did not make you passionate about it. It wasn’t your path.
 
Education or even talent aren’t worth much without passion. So do the stuff that you love and you’ve always wanted to do because without it, you’ll feel stuck and unfulfilled. If you work in a bank but your dream is to be a naturopath, then make those changes now. Make this year the turning point in your life. When you do what you love you will be rewarded — it will just flow naturally.
 
Look at those around you who just make things happen. They have a clear goal in mind and they know where they want to go. They don’t always have a plan but they have the passion and the tenacity to make it work, and they achieve their goals as the end result.
 
Trust us when we tell you this. If something important to you, you WILL find a way. If it isn’t, you’ll find an excuse. It’s that simple. Find your way. Make it work, whatever it takes. Are you 10 kilos heavier than you should be? It is simple: Commit, go to that gym every day, no excuses, and train until you lose those 10  kilos. When you accomplish this, you’ll have the confidence to do more. Set a goal and make it happen.
 
Want to stop smoking? Stop making excuses, take control of your circumstances before they take control of you.
 
Success isn’t just about what you accomplish in your life, it’s about what you inspire others to do and when you do accomplish something as simple as quitting smoking or losing weight, you’ll inspire others to do the same. Anyone can change the world, and everybody should try. And it all starts with your own life.
 
Stop waiting for the perfect time to do what you want to do. Do it now.

Vintage camera finds!

I absolutley adore vintage cameras. The online shop Etsy has a huge selection of these to purchase. Iv always loved photography, being able to keep a visual diary to look back on.

I came across this amazing Aquarium Phone Booth.

An ordinary phone booth was transformed into an aquarium by artists Benoit Deseille and Benedetto Bufalino as part of the Lyon Light Festival in France.

As the designers stated:

“With the advent of the mobile telephone, telephone booths lie unused. We rediscover this glass cage transformed into an aquarium, full of exotically colored fish; an invitation to escape and travel.”

I would love one of these in my lounge with some crazy looking fish.

i love love love kate spades behind the curtain, and especially the things we love feature. the way the behind the curtain is layed out, the style and the happiness that pops off the page is fantastic!

Kate has also designed a tiny wee pocket book for inspiration on the go. its not instores yet but keep an eye out, its on its way!

I am loving Banksy right now. Banksy is a well known graffitti artist whos identity remains unknown. Banksy is responsible for decorating the streets, walls, and bridges of towns and cites throughout the world. Check out some of his incredible work!

Every once in a while I look around my crowded, disorganized apartment and crave a little minimalism and modernism. I recently came across the works of Belgium architecture firm Bruno Erpicum & Partners. I especially love the bricks and the adorable outdoor furniture.

 

Today i was introduced to The Selby.. amazing. I loved it so much i had to go and buy the book. Todd Selby is a portrait, interiors, fashion photographer and illustrator.
