So I went a little crazy and bought a couple.. well actually A LOT of books.

  • Humans of New York By Brandon Stanton

#1 New York Times bestseller, Humans of New York began in the summer of 2010, when photographer Brandon Stanton set out to create a photographic census of New York City.  Armed with his camera, he began crisscrossing the city, covering thousands of miles on foot, all in an attempt to capture New Yorkers and their stories. Now with more than two million loyal fans, a beautiful, heartfelt, funny, and inspiring collection of photographs and stories capturing the spirit of New York City.

  • Mark Ryden - 2014 - Small Clothbound Diary By Taschen

The cutest diary I have ever owned. Mark is an amazing artist. Incorporating his art work and a beautifully crafted cloth covered book what more could you want in a diary!

  • The World According to Karl By Jean-Christophe Napias

The ultimate repertoire of wit and wisdom from fashions sharpest pin Karl Lagerfeld is a modern master of couture. He is also famously outspoken: his wise, surprising statements pop up like offbeat news flashes.

  • It By Alexa Chung

Chung’s first book, “It,” provides her legion of fans with a long-awaited inside look at her fascinating world. A wholly unique collection of Chung’s personal writings, drawings, and photographs, It covers everything from her candid thoughts on life, love, and music to her favorite ensembles and how to decide what to wear in the morning. With Chung’s characteristic wit, charm, and refreshingly down-to-earth attitude, this full-color compendium is a must-have for anyone who loves fashion, music, and just about everything Alexa Chung.

  • The Vogue Factor By Kirstie Clements

The Vogue Factor is Kirsties candid account of life at the heart of the fashion industry, from photo shoots and celebrity interviews to the ugly truth behind the glamour - infighting, back-stabbing and the dangerous pursuit of beauty. This is the behind-the-scenes story of an illustrious career in fashion, from receptionist to the editor’s chair. Ridiculously excited to read this one!

my current OBSESSION is Beyoncé

1. Life is but a dream - HBO Documentary

This is honestly the most inspiring documentary I have ever seen and if you havn’t already seen it you should. Like, right now. http://vimeo.com/71639589

To me, Beyoncé is the most inspiring women. She’s so incredibly talented and still so down to earth. She values and is most thankful for what’s truly important to her, family. We could all learn a thing or two from Beyoncé. I feel so often that I am not thankful enough for the amazing things I have in my life. We need to appreciate what we have instead of constantly wanting more and never being satisfied.

2. Beyoncé, self-titled

A mini art feature of several videos, giving a glimpse into the entire visual album project detailing her artistic vision (parts 1 – 5) is crazy good. http://www.beyonce.com/tumblr/video

3. Visual album

Is just ahhmazing. Especially video clips; pretty hurts, drunk in love, partition, jealous, XO, flawless, ok… ALL of them.  My favourite lyric has got to be “perfection is a disease of a nation” amen.

Can we please talk about how !!!! this ‘For Love & Lemons‘ Land of Eternal Spring lookbook is?

Shot in Guatemala it was put together by the dreamiest of dream teams: Zoey Grossman behind the lens, the stunning Carola Remer in front, Ashley Glorioso on the styling and my FAVORITE Ashlee Rose on hair/make-up (<– how GOOD are all of her braids?!!?).

Swoooon!

I have always wanted a wall in my home that was completely filled with photos! Today I came across a post from www.abeautifulmess.com which shows how she transformed a wall using crazy cool instax wallpaper.

She did face a couple of challenges though:

1. The wall was HUGE

2. The photos are not all real photos and they do repeat.

However she managed to finish the entire wall within two days and it was super cheap seeing as the photos weren’t real instax photos.

I would love to transform one of my bedroom walls using this idea, incorporating pictures of my family, friends and inspiration.

Check it out below!

obsessed with the new wildfox campaign.

http://www.wildfoxcouture.com/lookbooks

Hello 2014. What have you got in store for me!

Hopefully it goes something along the lines of this (yes here they are, the ever so optimistic NY’s resolutions):

01.     Say Yes. Literally. To everything that I can do, obviously there is restrictions. I worry too much, which results in me not doing things because I worry what may or may not happen somewhere down the line. I want to say yes to things out of my comfort zone and try harder to have new experiences and try new things, building on my confidence and social skills. This also relates to food. I want to try new foods and expand the minimal food pallet I currently have. Unfortunately I can’t live off takeaways and weetbix (yes, I have a “thing” with weetbix) my whole life.

02.     Meet new people. I really want, and NEED to meet new people. I’m going to make a point to try and be more friendly and open with people and also make more time to appreciate the people I already have in my life.

03.     Money, Money, Money! This is on my to-do list every god dam year. Last year my spending was a tad out of control, my wants were a little bit extravagant! So this year I am going to focus on budgeting and saving my money. This year I want to explore more and exploring (at times) is not cheap. Whether it be a roady down south, a long weekend up the coast or an overseas getaway I would like to be able to see more of what’s around me. Maybe even a car purchase is on the cards (along with finally getting around to sitting my full licence!).

04.     Keep positive, stay inspired. I believe, the most important thing is to have passion in what you do and do the stuff that you love and you’ve always wanted to do because without it, you’ll feel stuck and unfulfilled. Right now my career isn’t all that satisfying, therefore I need to focus on my hobbies. Read more books, exercise, create art, blog, small projects and attempt to use less technology (especially in the evenings, right before bed!).

05.     Move overseas. Yes. I need a change! I have been living in Wellington for roughly 7 years now. I love Wellington but I think it’s time to spread my wings and pursuit a better lifestyle and more coin, cha-ching! I’m not sure exactly where I will move too but I am completely head over heels in love with both Sydney and L.A. I also want to make over my career with one that fulfils my passion; design, fashion, fitness, music, art, travel. I think I’m a fairly good writer and I would love to pursue a career in editing. Working for a well-known magazine is my ultimate! A shift overseas may just open those doors. Watch this space -
